Beginning in mid-February 2008, the 1997-2007 online version of the Science Watch® newsletter, ESI-Topics.com, and in-cites.com, will all be featured together on the redesigned ScienceWatch.com. All previous content from the three sites will be permanently archived, and remain accessible from any existing bookmarks to the archived pages. No new content will be added to this site. Updates and new content (updated biweekly) are available at ScienceWatch.com now.

CHEMISTRY OF MATERIALS

Chemistry of MaterialsAccording to ISI Essential Science Indicators, Chemistry of Materials is the #1 ranked journal in the field of Materials Science.

"To provide a forum for work in materials-related chemistry and to highlight the pivotal role of chemistry as a source of new materials and approaches to materials processing"- L.V. Interrante - Editor, Chemistry of Materials.

Exploring one of the most exciting frontiers in chemistry, Chemistry of Materials provides a molecular-level perspective at the interface of chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science.

Among the research areas of interest are solid-state chemistry, both inorganic and organic, and polymer chemistry, especially as directed to the development of materials with novel and/or useful optical, electrical, magnetic, catalytic, and mechanical properties.

Fundamental issues relating to the fabrication and processing of electronic, magnetic and optical materials and devices are of interest, as well as such topics as the preparation and study of biomaterials, nanomaterials, composites, liquid crystals, coatings, thin films and interfaces, and self-organized molecular assemblies.

In addition to regular articles and communications, the journal features occasional review papers and special issues on key topics at the forefront of current research in materials chemistry.
